John Wayne is an American icon so it\u2019s only fitting that the vehicle he loved to drive became an icon in and of itself.<\/p>\n
Ironically, John was unable to drive the Corvette for very long because climbing into and out of the chassis became difficult for him. Acting and the physical toll that goes with it can take a lot out of a man. A car as compact as the C1 Corvette wasn’t flexible enough to accommodate someone who had been performing his own stunts for decades.<\/p>\n
John Wayne isn’t the only famous American actor to find himself inside a famous American car. Matthew McConaughey is another action movie star with a love for luxurious, powerful cars.<\/p>\n

With a car as iconic and immediately recognizable as the Corvette, it\u2019s no wonder actors, TV stars and other famous Americans gravitate towards it. Whether it\u2019s the classic first generation Corvette John Wayne was so fond of or the Stingray driven by Matthew McConaughey, these are some truly fine cars.<\/p>\n
