300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 360px) 100vw, 360px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That said, we will freely admit Corvette enthusiasts are biased, you may like just your Corvette, the Corvette brand, just one particular class of Corvettes, or every Corvette model that\u2019s ever been built.\u00a0 But that doesn&#8217;t mean there weren&#8217;t some ugly ducklings along the way.\u00a0 Some versions, shall we say, models that didn&#8217;t quite live up to the hype?\u00a0 Keep in mind, when we say ugly, we don\u2019t necessarily mean the way they were styled, or how they looked at the curb.\u00a0 Ugly in some cases meant the power plant they were given as well.<\/p>\n<p>We will be creating a list of what we consider to be the \u201cBest of the Worst\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0 They will be listed in no particular order, so no Top 10 countdowns or anything of the like.\u00a0 We also realize that not everyone will agree with us, or you might have your own versions you want to add.\u00a0 One man\u2019s Venus is another\u2019s Medusa, if you will.\u00a0 We get that, so feel free to comment below.<\/p>\n<p>The first \u201cdog\u201d on our list, made the cut due to a weak power plant.\u00a0 During the 1970s, the age of muscle cars was dying out, gas prices were causing most Americans to forgo a love affair with raw power in favor of vehicles that were sensible.\u00a0 This hit the Corvette hard, maybe harder than any other line of cars in the American arsenal.\u00a0 The worst of these was the <a href=\"http:\/\/content.time.com\/time\/specials\/2007\/article\/0,28804,1658545_1658533_1658522,00.html\" target=\"_blank\">1980 Corvette \u2013 California edition<\/a>.\u00a0 The federal emissions requirements were bad enough, but California took it to a whole new level.\u00a0 The standard 350 cu. in. smallblock got replaced in this version with a 305 cu. in. powerplant (and that\u2019s being gracious) that put out a whopping 180hp.\u00a0 Yep, 180, no typos here.\u00a0 If you bought this car, kudos, but seriously, you\u2019re a candidate for an engine swap at this point.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll call that the first on the list, but sadly it won\u2019t be the last.\u00a0 We won\u2019t inundate you with all of ours in a single list.\u00a0 We don\u2019t think
